First identify the exact symptom.

Confirm neutral and ensure nobody is near moving machinery. Inspect battery terminals, engine earth strap, isolator and starter connections. Measure battery voltage during the start attempt, then voltage drop across the positive and negative paths. A connection can look clean yet fail under hundreds of amps.
Do not repeatedly bridge starter terminals. Sparks near batteries or fuel are dangerous, and bypassing neutral protection can move the boat unexpectedly. If rotation is mechanically blocked, stop. Possible causes include a seized engine or accessory, liquid in a cylinder, damaged starter engagement or driveline fault.
If the engine cranks normally but will not fire, go to cranks but will not start.
